Aguat Gets Savvy about the Water Cycle is designed to teach students about evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. In order to teach her class, Mrs. Barnett illustrates this idea using a story about two water drops named Aguat and Savvy. One day, the two drops are playing in a stream when Savvy is scooped up by thirsty hikers. To save her, Aguat has to follow the hikers but he can’t do so if he has to stay in his liquid state. He pleads with the sun to evaporate him so that he can float through the clouds. Once he finds where the hikers have gone with his friend, Aguat rains down into a puddle nearby. With a little help from a girl splashing in the puddles, Aguat makes his way to Savvy and, with even more help from other water drops, he frees her. The friends evaporate back into the clouds to later begin the journey again.
